Everytime I’ve walked down Figueroa St, I’ve been perplexed as to why two flower shops are in such close proximity to each other. When the opportunity came up to learn how to use ArcGIS/ArcGIS storymaps and analyze census/household/population data, I decided to dig into this question. What I found was ultimately a story of gentrification, and hope you will enjoy reading. This was one of my first experiences with ArcGIS, so apologies in advance for any weird formatting. I’ve linked the ArcGIS link, which is a more readable version and a PDF in case the ArcGIS link is inactive. Thanks!

The more flower shops, the better?
